How to correct update my aadhaar card information:

 Aadhaar card is among the greatest proof of Identity and who are Residence in India. Aadhaar has been receiving many complaints regarding the details which are printed on the card. Then the government of India has decided to allow the citizens of India to correct the details. The details which can be changed very easily, that are printed incorrectly on the card issued. Date of Birth, Residence address, name and gender, your contact/phone number or any other information which is present in your Aadhaar card can be easily changed if it is not correct.

There are three methods of getting corrections done in the Aadhar card.

•First method is done by Aadhar Card correction done online.

•Second method is done by offline through post.

•Corrections update from Aadhaar card enrollment center

Option 1 for making correction of details of Aadhar Card by Online

If you want to change or update your details which are present on your aadhaar card by Online this is the procedure you must follow:-

You can update these details present on your Aadhaar card:-

•Your Name

•Date of Birth

• Residence Address

• Gender

•Contact Information (Mobile Number)

The following are the steps to follow the procedure for Online:

To apply for AADHAAR Card correction online, you must have a mobile number, as One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the mobile number

1. Enter your 12 digit AADHAAR Card number

2. Enter the displayed Text Verification code

3. click on “Send OTP” button to receive the OTP to the mobile number which is registered

4. The next screen shows tick mark options to change Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Address and Mobile Number in the AADHAAR Card.

5. Check mark boxes against the items which needs to be changed in the AADHAAR Card and click on "Submit" button.

6. In the next screen enter the corrections in English as well as your local language

7. Click on "Submit Update Request" button.

8. The next screen will show your entered corrections and it will ask you to confirm the same.

9. If you made any mistakes, click on "Modify" button to go back to the corrections page.

10. If all are Correct what you have Entered then, confirm by tick marking "I confirm..." statement and click on "Proceed" button.

11. The next screen will ask you to upload self-attested supporting documents copies for the requested AADHAAR Card correction.

12. For the self-attested documents copies, mention your name and sign / provide thumbprint

13. For children who are below five years, parent / guardian can fill and sign / provide thumbprint in supporting documents copies, also mention your AADHAAR Card number on each self-attested supporting documents copies.

14. Maximum size allowed for each digital document file is 2 MB

15. File types supported are: .jpg, .pdf, .tiff, .jpeg, .png.

16. After you have uploaded the requested documents, click on "Submit" button to submit the AADHAAR Card to be for the change request.

17. For accepted supporting documents for AADHAAR Card correction, click here AADHAAR Card Update Documents Required.

18. Finally the system will give you "Update Request Number" (URN) for your AADHAAR Card correction that you just submitted.

19. Save this URN number for future reference and to track your change request.

20. The submitted AADHAAR Card correction will be verified by UIDAI and on verification the correction will be updated in your AADHAAR Card.

21. Status of your AADHAAR Card change request will be intimated by SMS to your registered mobile number. To check your AADHAAR Card correction status, click here.

Option 2 for making correction of details of Aadhar Card by Offline (Through post only)

If you want to change or update your details which are present on your aadhaar card by offline through Postal method, this is the procedure you must follow:-

You can update these details present on your aadhaar card:-

Step -1: First of all download the details which are need to updating/correction form from UIDAI website https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/ssup-home

Step- 2:  After downloading the Aadhaar card corrections update form, all the details should be filled in capital letters only.

Note: Have to give your present active mobile number as it is compulsory. (In case if you want to use Self Service Update portal, Register mobile number is mandatory)

Step-3: Whatever information you want to get updated weather it is your Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Address, Mobile and Email

Step- 4: Check the checkbox which you want to correct the details, by marking the Tick mark (☑) on top of the Update form

Step-21: Enter the E Mail (optional) which present on the card issued or write the correct Email Details which is to be corrected / want to update

Step-22: Document Details (Write Names of the documents Attached, Refer the Annexure 1 for valid documents) has to be attached and enter the POI, DOB and POA / want to update

Step-23: Sign on the Document

NOTE: Along With This Update form attach one Xerox proof of document related whatever changes you want correct or update on the present aadhaar card

Put all the details in an envelope and seal it properly using glue. In clear letters mention “Aadhaar Update/Correction” on the envelope and see if it is properly readable.

Option 3 for making correction of details of Aadhar Card by Enrollment Centers

If some people don’t have idea on Online updates, as well as through postal, in this case like that people they can directly visit nearest Aadhaar enrollment center.,

1. When you visit Aadhaar card enrollment center for the purpose of Aadhaar corrections / update.  They will give you one AADHAAR CARD CORRECTIONS/ UPDATE Form

2. fill the required Correction fields with check box option

3. Clearly mentioned whatever changes you want to make like, NAME Change, SURE NAME Change, Gender Change, Mobile number change / Mobile number update, and email also.

4. After fill the required corrected fields, you have to submit Proof of Identity and Proof of address (PAN CARD, DRIVING License, Voter ID, Ration Card, Passport) any one of the Document. For reference purpose.

5. Then they will  update your correct information into Aadhaar Card portal, and also they will take your Finger prints and photo for security purpose,

6. Now Aadhaar card Corrections/ Update process completed,

7. then they will give you one proof of corrected aadhaar enrollment copy,

8. After some days you will receive SMS from AADHAR portal, and then you can download your e-aadhaar card with correct updated information.
